Rie Munoz - Barbara Lavallee - Aviation Prints

About Rie Munoz

Rie Munoz was born in California to Dutch immigrants.  She continued to live there throughout her childhood, eventually going to art school on the East Coast.  It wasn't until 1950 that Rie Munoz traveled the Inside Passage, falling in love with Juneau and ultimately deciding to plant her roots there.  Within a day, she found a job and the artist's future there began.

And thankfully for us it did!  Her wonderful depictions of daily Alaskan village life feed us with the imagery of fishing, berry picking, exuberant children and local folklore.

IT'S OFFICIAL: RIE MUNOZ HAS RETIRED

Here is the official announcement from Rie Munoz, Ltd.: "After releasing almost 600 prints, posters, silkscreens, cards and books, Rie Munoz has decided to retire from publishing her art.  Rie continues to pursue her love of painting and is currently doing just that in Morrow Bay, Ca.  She will join us back here in Juneau in a couple months. Once again, Rie is still painting, but future works will not be released as print editions."
